"Struggle" .. redefined

“Where is the justice of political power if it executes the murderer and jails the plunderer, and then itself marches upon neighboring lands, killing thousands and pillaging the very hills?”
Kahlil Gibran

This is a quick one before I head to bed.
I'm speechless and overwhelmed.

Remember the pain I've been complaining about? F*CK it! SERIOUSLY! It's absolutely insignificant and full of crap. All of my worries seemed tiny after I made it tonight to Bahrain Medical Society to watch "To Shoot an Elephant": a documentary on life in Gaza Strip, which was globally screened on the 18th of Jan 2010 in different countries.

Despite the sadness/disappointment the film brought to me, it helped to brush aside a big chunk of my emotional suffering. I encourage you to spend 2 hours of your life watching this. It might change your perspective of life in general and your own life in particular. Download here.

في مشهد من المشاهد..
يلعن سائق سيارة الإسعاف الإسرائيليين قائلاً: يلعن شرفهم!

قول يلعن شرف العرب! مسخرة حدهم!

Hi,

I just came across your blog a few days ago and I've been enjoying reading it! Anyways do you know if they are screening the movie again? I was supposed to go yesterday but I couldn't make it on time. Thanks!

Thanks for stopping by, Reeshiez:) Unfortunately, I'm not aware if it will be screened again anywhere. The only other option is to download it. I know that won't be as great as watching it projected on a big screen..but hey.. don't let that stop you from watching it.

:)

Your blog has a unique concept. All about food! Loving you already :p

I'll try to get around to see the movie.

Meanwhile, I think the Haiti earthquake served as a good reminder that we have it good.

Don't misunderstand me. I don't mean to belittle the crisis in Haiti or the suffering of its people. It was indeed catastrophic and a serious reminder of how blessed we are. But I personally believe that there's much more injustice in the case of Palestine.

Haiti vs. Gaza:

-It's a natural disaster. Not man-made. You don't have control over the first, but wars are another story.. hopeless and run by angry, mercyless brains.

-Palestine only gets stabbed again and again..morning, noon and night.. bedoon 7aq.. I'm not cold-hearted, but Haiti will recover.

-Haiti pulled the world together. Everyone wants to provide huge aid. The war on Gaza tore people apart and the aid was not enough, undeliverable, and if it was ever delivered, Israel would simply destroy it. It's frustrating that nobody is assuming the liability for what happened in Gaza.

يعني الزبدة.. أحس إنه القهر على غزة مليون مرة أخس من أي كارثة طبيعية
